Key Responsibilities


Research

Understand the problem statement of the case and develop research strategies retrospectively; Conduct in-depth research on debt management, economic governance, and related policy issues; Assist in the preparation of policy briefs, reports, and position papers; Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in the policy environment affecting Africa’s economic landscape; Ensure that own knowledge and expertise are as up-to-date as possible in the relevant fields of law; Contribute to the development of learning materials or other resources; Researching and writing in-depth reports and briefing memos; Prepare checklists/handouts as and when required; Follow, develop & evolve documentation and content management.


Advocacy Support

Support the drafting of memoranda, policy briefs, fact sheets, blog articles, weekly updates and background papers on issues relating to the assigned topic / case / problem statement; Contribute to the development and implementation of advocacy strategies for assigned programs; Assist in planning and organizing advocacy campaigns and events targeting key decision makers and stakeholders; Draft content for advocacy materials, including social media posts, newsletters, and presentations. 


Stakeholder Engagement

Attend meetings, congressional hearings, and other events; Support communication and collaboration with stakeholders including but not limited to partners, civil society organizations, and government agencies; Assist in organizing and attending meetings, webinars, and workshops related to program's / projects’ advocacy efforts; Assisting seniors with external events, presentations and training delivery; Liaising with external organisations and dealing with referrals


Monitoring & Evaluation

Participate in monitoring the progress and impact of advocacy campaigns;
Assist in tracking media coverage and policy changes influenced by program’s / projects's advocacy efforts.


Miscellaneous

Supporting administrative and operations activities; Maintain the standard of professional service in line with relevant policies and procedures;



Qualifications

Should be enrolled in or graduated from a reputed institution (Law
/ Business / Policy); Should have successfully finished at least 1 academic year in a law school; upto 1 years of experience; A strong knack for research and understanding of research methodologies; Ability adapt working in a multicultural setting; Strong evidences of ability to works well in an informal, team-oriented environment; High level of attention to detail; Self-motivated & Self-starter.


Technical Skills 

Knowledge and experience with operating a computer, calculator, and other general office equipment; Excellent social and communication skills; Use professional and clear verbal communication skills; High quality writing skills, using accurate word usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written correspondence; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; Use professional phone etiquette, including tone and volume of voice; Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google applications, and Dropbox; Technically Equipped to work and collaborate remotely via VCs, calls, meeting over the internet; Strong content management, documentation and organization skills; Basic to advanced knowledge of Ms Office and online collaboration tools.


Mental Aptitude

Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced, changing environment and maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness; Ability to follow policies, procedures and written instructions, as well as verbal instructions or directions from his/her supervisor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to get along well with co-workers and to work as part of a diverse time spread across time zones.


Physical Qualifications

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; Regular, timely attendance during assigned work hours as & when required / instructed; Normal physical strength to handle routine office materials and tools; Normal dexterity of hands and fingers; Occasional lifting and transporting up to 25 lbs; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; Standard Medical fitness to execute the responsibilities as listed in the job description.

**3  Month full time probation followed by performance evaluation.
