Research Associate
(Psychology Intern)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Psychology Graduate Student Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects across trans-disciplinary spectrum. The successful candidate will work under supervision assisting in various aspects of the research process, including data collection, analysis, literature reviews, and manuscript preparation.
This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in wellness & well-being at work. The research assistant will work closely with a dynamic team of graduate students / postdoctoral researchers / faculty members. Key Responsibilities
Basic Research Aptitude
Understand the problem statement of the case and develop research strategies retrospectively; Conduct in-depth research on issues with a wellness & well-being lens; Assist in the preparation of briefs, reports, and position papers; Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in the wellness & well-being landscape; Ensure that own knowledge and expertise are as up-to-date as possible in the relevant fields of wellness & well-being; Contribute to the development of learning materials or other resources; Researching and writing in-depth reports and briefing memos; Prepare checklists/handouts as and when required; Follow, develop & evolve documentation and content management.
Data Collection & Analysis
Assist with participant recruitment and scheduling; Conduct psychological experiments or surveys, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines; Collect and manage research data using tools such as surveys, interviews, lab-based testing, or observational protocols; Analyze data using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, etc.) and summarize findings; Ensure data integrity, including data cleaning and preparation for analysis.
Literature Review & Research Assistance
Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support ongoing research and identify relevant studies; Summarize key findings and contribute to the preparation of research papers, grant proposals, or presentations; Help develop and refine research hypotheses and methodologies.
Manuscript and Report Preparation
Assist in the preparation of research manuscripts for publication, including writing and editing drafts; Help with creating figures, tables, and other visual aids for reports and publications; Contribute to presentations of research findings at academic conferences, seminars, or team meetings.
Advocacy Support
Support the drafting of memoranda, policy briefs, fact sheets, blog articles, weekly updates and background papers on issues relating to the assigned topic / case / problem statement; Contribute to the development and implementation of advocacy strategies for assigned programs; Assist in planning and organizing advocacy campaigns and events targeting key decision makers and stakeholders; Draft content for advocacy materials, including social media posts, newsletters, and presentations.
Administrative Support
Maintain accurate records of research activities, including data files, consent forms, and participant records; Coordinate logistics for research meetings, study sessions, or participant follow-ups; Assist in preparing Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions or updates as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement
Attend meetings, congressional hearings, and other events; Support communication and collaboration with stakeholders including but not limited to partners, civil society organizations, and government agencies; Assist in organizing and attending meetings, webinars, and workshops related to program's / projects’ advocacy efforts; Assisting seniors with external events, presentations and training delivery; Liaising with external organisations and dealing with referrals
Monitoring & Evaluation
Participate in monitoring the progress and impact of advocacy campaigns;
Assist in tracking media coverage and policy changes influenced by program’s / projects's advocacy efforts.
Miscellaneous
Supporting administrative and operations activities; Maintain the standard of professional service in line with relevant policies and procedures;
Must-Have Qualifications
Enrolled in a undergraduate or graduate program in Psychology at a recognized institution; Strong interest in research with a focus on wellness & well-being; Proficiency in data analysis and research software (e.g., SPSS, R, MATLAB, Python, etc.); Experience with literature review processes and academic writing; Strong communication skills, both written and oral; Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive participant data responsibly and confidentially; Ability to work independently and as part of a research team; Prior research experience or coursework related to psychology is preferred but not required.
Good-To-Have Qualifications
Familiarity with research ethics and IRB protocols; Experience conducting psychological assessments, experiments, or surveys; Knowledge of statistical techniques and research design principles; Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must-Have Technical Know Hows
Knowledge and experience with operating a computer, calculator, and other general office equipment; Excellent social and communication skills; Use professional and clear verbal communication skills; High quality writing skills, using accurate word usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written correspondence; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; Use professional phone etiquette, including tone and volume of voice; Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google applications, and Dropbox; Technically Equipped to work and collaborate remotely via VCs, calls, meeting over the internet; Strong content management, documentation and organization skills; Basic to advanced knowledge of Ms Office and online collaboration tools.
Mental Aptitude
Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced, changing environment and maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness; Ability to follow policies, procedures and written instructions, as well as verbal instructions or directions from his/her supervisor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to get along well with co-workers and to work as part of a diverse time spread across time zones.
Physical Qualifications
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; Regular, timely attendance during assigned work hours as & when required / instructed; Normal physical strength to handle routine office materials and tools; Normal dexterity of hands and fingers; Occasional lifting and transporting up to 25 lbs; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; Standard Medical fitness to execute the responsibilities as listed in the job description.
